We are excited about our next edition of eye/art/design at our Gold Coast location this Saturday, May 18th from 10:00am to 3:00pm. It will be a great day featuring pottery and etched glass works by local Artisans matched with the launch of our newest eyewear collection – David Spencer Eyewear.
Potter Paul Pennock creates functional works of art in his Lincoln Square studio – Rainy Day Pottery. He works in clay combined with natural glaze elements to create objects that are as functional as they are beautiful. His work is created in various forms of production including
wheel throwing, hand building and slip casting. We can not wait to see the pieces he has created for this event.
Cecile Derel is a Chicago based artist who has been working predominately in glass since 1999. Her artwork is inspired by the amazing variety of creatures found in nature, as well as Celtic knot work and the design elements of the Art Nouveau and Art Deco periods. Cecile’s current work uses her love of glass to showcase endangered species, wildlife and natural elements. She creates each unique piece in the intaglio engraving method bringing each image to life.
David Spencer Eyewear is a 100+ piece collection that is hand designed born from original sketches and color concepts by David Spencer. This collection features Japanese craftsmanship in acetates and titanium. There is something in this collection for everyone. Now is your chance to see the full collection and choose from every color available.
We are looking forward to seeing you!
This event sounds like so much fun. Love David Spencer’s eyeglass dishes. Sent from my iPhone
