Our clients are the most important part of our business at EFP Opticians.  That is why it is important to us to be as involved in our communities and support things that are important to them.  We have been part of some great events and hosted a few that we would like to share with you.

Our Back(Pack) to School Drive was a big success thanks to the support of our clients.  We were able to provide 40 kids involved in the By The Hand Club for Kids program with new back packs along with lots of school supplies.  By The Hand is a great after-school program that focuses on academic excellence while nurturing the whole child.  The work they do helps children from high-risk, inner-city neighborhoods live an abundant life.  Learn more about their work at ByTheHand.org.

IMG_5319 This year saw several natural disasters which left many families without a roof over their heads or basic necessities.  It’s times like these when we all rally together to do what we can to help.  We were proud to be involved in the Hinsdale Helps Hurricane Recovery event hosted by LaMantia Design.  All proceeds went to help families get back on the path to recovery.

All of us at EFP Opticians are animal lovers.  When we had the opportunity to help The Farm Way, we jumped at the chance.  In addition to providing rescue and sancturary for horses and other farm animals, The Farm Way also provides horse-assisted therapy programs for individuals suffering from PTSD, anxiety, depression and more.

If you did not join us for our Glasses & Beards event at our Gold Coast boutique, you missed a fun one.  This event helped raise money for the Prostate Cancer Foundation of Chicago during NoShave November.  We featured great new works by Artists John Airo & Ethan Hutchinson, and skin and beard care products from J&L Pogonotrophics.

Joy of Toys 2017

Each year the North Dearborn Association hosts Joy of Toys to collect toys for every child in a neighborhood school.  Each toy is individually wrapped by donors and volunteers to make sure every child experiences the joy of the holiday.  EFP Optician Lesley Bramson volunteered at this year’s event where they collected and wrapped over 200 toys.

We were excited to host our first Eye / Art / Design event at our Hinsdale location.  As part of this program we give our space to local artists and artisans to showcase their creations.  Our first event featured local Potter Claire Schafer of Field Park Pottery.  Claire’s pieces included a wide variety of glazes, textures and shapes – each one as beautiful as the next.  Local artists help to make every community unique, and EFP Opticians is excited to help give them voice.
